Research On Enhancing The Competitiveness Of Cotton Industry In XPCC

XPCC is one of the main cotton areas in China,the cotton production consistently ranked in the nation many years.The cotton industry is the competitive industry,which has the irreplaceable position in the development of national economy in XPCC.Through many years construction,the cotton industry in XPCC has been on a certain scale and level.After joining the WTO,China's cotton market has been merging into the global cotton market,faced with the competition of the cotton industry in other countries and regions.It is necessary and important to explore the development countermeasure of cotton industry.Trying to seek the way and method to improve the competitiveness of cotton industry in XPCC has a great realistic significance.Based on the review of domestic and foreign relevant research,this paper briefly introduced the basic concept of industrial competitiveness,analyzed the current situation and development of cotton industry in recent years of XPCC.And made an analysis on the XPCC's cotton industry competitiveness and its influence factors in detail,and then it applied a series of methods including construction of index system and qualitative analysis.Through the analysis and research,the results show that the cotton trade competition index,competitiveness index,import penetration ratio and the export intensity are all show continuous decrease status during the study period,cotton industry competitiveness of XPCC showed a gradual decline trend but its competitive advantage is obvious compared with Xingjiang.In addition,based on the former analysis,using the Diamonds Framework for reference,combining the present situation of XPCC's cotton industry to expound the influence of five factors on XPCC's cotton industry,including production element conditions,demand conditions,interrelated industries,principal parts of management and governmental policies.And the analysis finds that the resource advantage of owning cotton is not changed into the competitive advantage in textile processing industry.Meanwhile,the situation has reduced the added value of cotton products and blocked the effective promotion of cotton industry competition in XPCC.Finally,it put forward some concrete suggestion on how to promote the cotton industry competitiveness in XPCC.
