The overgrowth of Asian Carps has gained the interest of United States scientists. Asian Carps are a significant threat to the Great Lakes because of their size, fecundity, and ability to consume large amounts of food. Asian Carps can grow to 100 pounds and up to four feet. They are well-suited to the cold water climate of the Great Lakes region, which is similar to their native Eastern Hemisphere habitats. It is expected that they would compete for food with the valuable sport and commercial fish. If they entered the system, they would likely become a dominant species in the Great Lakes. While there are plenty of efforts designed to cut down the number of Asian Carps, much more needs to be done to ensure the Great Lakes remain safe from this relentless invader. It is very important to keep these fish from destroying an already vulnerable ecosystem and save direct and indirect economic loss.We can find five factors that restrict that contribute to Asian Carps overrun:(1) They have higher reproductive rate and fewer nature enemies compared to the native species;(2) The can adapt different kinds of nature environments;(3) Some incorrect control methods lack overall consideration, usually the native species are killed and these methods promote the reproduction objectively;(4) Asian Carps are prickly and the market recognition for Asian Carps is very low;(5) There are no sufficient government policy support and low demand for the Asian Carps, fishermen have low motivation to harvest large amount of Asian Carps for the market. The article uses theoretical analysis method, case study and survey method and combines the normative analysis, in order to discover the invasion mechanism of Asian Carps and the impact of invasion on ecosystem, agriculture, economic, planting industry and forestry. This paper discusses about the economic value of Asian Carps in the third chapter. The economic value of the Great Lakes region includes use value and non-use value. The invasion of Asian Carps has significant impacts on commercial fishing and recreational fishing. The Asian Carps potential market includes harvesting potential market, processing potential market and food consumption potential market. After this paper uses value chain to analysis problems in commercial fishing, including more information in business decision, Asian Carps value chain optimization and integration and Asian Carps market recognition and discusses about how to develop the economic value of Asian Carps. After the theoretical analysis, this paper gives an interpretation on the current methods by the United States government and identified the exiting problems. After that this paper curries out a survey analysis in the Mississippi River Basin and the Great Lakes area. Also this paper gives a case study of a current successful Asian Carps processing company and comments on the experiences of alien fishes invasion control in Brazil. The Results show that, there are still plenty of problems in the Asian Carps control process, for example the whole control period is long; following surveys should focus on the influences of Asian Carps on human activities and the US government should learn from other countries or regions for successful experiences. In the last part, this article gives advices from the prospective of economic and market to control the Asian Carps in the United States. It begins with market segmentation that the Asian Carps market can be divided into large amount export market, high-end domestic market and by-product market, which can make Asian Carps as an economic resource in the closed-loop system; at the same time it is urgent to reverse the negative image of Asian Carps among the United States customers, rebranding and new deboning methods are critical to rise up the market recognition; the government should put more effort and budget on the research of Asian Carps and provide more data support; also policy support from the government is also very important to strengthen the cooperation between government and business department; at last it is very important to consummate Asian Carps relative laws, standardize the harvest, reinforce the corporation between fishermen, processors, researchers and marketing managers, and consider the control and prevention strategies of Asian Carps comprehensively.
