Food industry is a pillar industry of the national economy and people's livelihood, which is related to consumer health and supply chain industry, such as agriculture, industry. However, the frequent occurrence of food safety makes corporate social responsibility and social integrity of food industry overshadowed, and the fulfill performance of corporate social responsibility makes people worried.From a global perspective, corporate social responsibility has become a big trend, and gradually moves from moral standard to the legal system and standardization management.From the characteristics of food industry, it has a natural indivisible relation with social responsibility.At present, food companies in China are starting to focus on social responsibility, and some of the companies released social responsibility report.But food industry lacks a unified corporate social responsibility performance evaluation system, so it cannot evaluate the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility for food companies.Therefore, according to the general framework of corporate social responsibility evaluation system, and combined with the characteristics of the food business, it is necessary to create a suitable food corporate social responsibility performance evaluation system for food industry.This paper collected 66 food listed companies in China for four years of the relevant index data, according to IS026000 social responsibility guidelines issued by the International Organization for Standardization, dividing the corporate social responsibility of food industry into seven areas, using the factor analysis method to construct corporate social responsibility performance evaluation model of food industry in China.Meanwhile, so as to set up a corporate social responsibility performance evaluation system of food industry with seven first level indicators and seventeen second level indicators, and applied to the sample companies. The results showed that the degree of corporate social responsibility performance of food industry in China is low, and there is a huge gap between different companies social responsibility performance, but the performance in social situation responsibility is improving year by year. Further analysis showed that food companies'social responsibility performance is better to government and creditors than other stakeholders. It is better in western and central area than in eastern.The performance of state-owned enterprises is better than non-state-owned enterprises, and the performance of large-size enterprises is better than small and medium-size enterprises. According to the existing problems and the status quo, this paper put forward to strengthen food companies'awareness of corporate social responsibility for food industry, improve the food companies'social responsibility information disclosure system, balance the performance of corporate social responsibility of food companies, update the indicators of corporate social responsibility performance evaluation for food industry, deepen the theory of social responsibility for food industry, and establish appropriate incentive mechanisms.
