| Industrial agglomeration is an important geographical feature of economic activity generated in the process, it is considered an effective way to promote economic growth. Manufacturing is one of the main components in national economic development, practice and historical experience shows that, manufacturing concentration plays a crucial role in promoting industrial restructuring and improving production efficiency and many other parts. Gansu is a traditional industry province in the western region, it becomes a serious problem that how to analysis the status of industrial agglomeration in Gansu, how to change the backward economy by industry, especially by the development of manufacturing.This paper reviewed the industrial agglomeration and economic growth theory and research status, then analyzed the path of industrial agglomeration effect on economic growth. On this basis, this paper described the development of manufacturing industry in Gansu from 2003 to 2014, and make a comparision between Gansu and entire country. According to the "National Economic Industry Classification" standard, this paper selects 30 manufacturing industries as samples, using integrated location quotient index to measure the degree of agglomeration manufacturing in Gansu.From manufacturing industry perspective and the perspective of time-series, this paper found that manufacturing of Gansu has industrial agglomeration advantages, traditional industries have more obvious advantages, such as tobacco industry, and high-tech industry agglomeration level is relatively low. By constructing the static and dynamic panel data model about manufacturing agglomeration and economic growth in Gansu, analysis the influence of Gansu manufacturing agglomeration on economic growth from the perspective of static and dynamic analysis respectively. The study showed that the level of manufacturing industry agglomeration in Gansu has a significant positive impact on economic growth, and early growth performance has a positive impact on the current economic growth. According to Gansu manufacturing industry agglomeration development, put forward relevant suggestions to exert positive effects of manufacturing industry agglomeration. |
