As the development of information technology, network technology and Internet of things technology, along with the comprehensive application of full process and product traceability, more and more companies are beginning to transform from manual operation to informatization. Manufacturing enterprises are still facing many challenges such as low productive efficiency, and inaccurate fault location when problem occurs, which result from wide varieties of materials and products categories, scattered information among departments, as well as manual record etc. Therefore, material and product traceability system are crucial for the purpose of establishing a perfect manufacturing enterprise.On a basis of a detailed prophase research work and demand analysis work, this paper focuses on designing a material and product traceability system based on LAPP architecture aiming at solving the problems of low efficiency and low accuracy related to material and product quality traceability among some manufacturing enterprises. Compared with other technologies, the stability of LAPP architecture is relatively higher. Due to full use of the open source software, it is cost efficient, simple and flexible in operation. Users need only one browser to run all modules.According to the design method of software engineering, the paper first represents a demand analysis regarding traceability system, followed by architecture design and detailed design, finalized by an implementation and test about the main modules. This paper has illustrated in full details about entering-the-warehouse module, set of modules, instruction chamber module design. The combination use of HTML and CSS technology on the design of front desk page not only completes the system interface functions, but also beautifies it. Background design of the modules is based on Apache for Web server, PostgreSQL for Web database, HTTP for transport protocol, PHP program executing SQL language PostgreSQL database operation. The combination use of the four makes the sound operation of material and product traceability system in manufacturing enterprises possible.The method of forward recording and reverse tracking is used in this system. Barcode coding and scanning have been applied to data management and traceability, as a result of which, various functions, such as Node records, label printing and scanning, data adding, modifying, and inquiry, have been implemented. This system is designed to improve the production management level, integrate and optimize work flow, so as to increase the transparency of manufacturing process, by realization of full traceability from production to plan, from finished material to goods.
