High Efficient Video Coding is a new generation video coding standard designed by the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group and the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group.The main goal of the HEVC standard is to improve the compression efficiency.Compared with H.264/AVC standard,the bit-rate reduced by about 50% for equal perceptual video quality.With the increase of network multimedia application and the challenges brought by the new HEVC technology,the video services need to pay more attention to protect video quality in lossy transmission channels.Error resilience video coding and error concealment method in H.264/AVC and HEVC are Researched under such backgroud in this thesis.The error concealment method and the error resilience coding are implemented in the decoder and encoder separately,and the performance is verified.The improvements to existing algotithms are proposed.The main research contents of this thesis are as follows:1)In order to overcome the problem in existing error concealment,an error concealment method based on video texture features and HEVC coding characteristics is proposed.The method utilizes the texture features of video content,CU partition features of HEVC and temporal domain coding features to analyze the lossing slice,adjusts its error concealment strategy,and recovers the lossing slice.The experimental results show that compared with the existing error concealment algorithm of HEVC,the video quality obtained by our method is higher,and the PSNR is increased by 0.5~2dB.2)In order to overcome the problem that the error resilience coding of HEVC is inefficient in lossy transmission channels,a error resilience coding method using RPS based on visual saliency is proposed.Firstly,the existing saliency detection methods are studied,and a real-time saliency detection model for the encoder is proposed.Then,by analyzing the relationship between video content and error resilience coding,we propose a CTU-level RPS based on visual saliency.The optimized method reduces the performance loss of encoder,also improves the video quality of decoded video in lossy transmission channels.
