With the continuous development of communication technology,how to increase the efficiency of power amplifier has become a hot topic.At the same time,the diversification of communication standards raises more requirements for power amplifier: handling changeable center frequency and variable bandwidth.And with the research of 5G,higher and higher requirements of bandwidth are needed.Therefore,it is necessary to study the reconfigurable and continuous power amplifier.The design of the reconfigurable and continuous amplifier,which combines continuous technology with reconfigurable technology,can take great advantage of multi-mode and multi-band.Under this background,this paper expands research on reconfigurable and continuous power amplifier.The main contents are summarized as follows:1.The efficiency improvement technologies of power amplifier are introduced,mainly including envelope tracking technology,envelop eliminate and restoration and Doherty amplifier.Compared with the previous technologies,Doherty power amplifier has a simple structure and is easy debugged.Therefore,reconfigurable technology,continuous technology and Doherty power amplifier can be combined for study.2.The continuous Doherty power amplifier is simulated and tested.Firstly,the theoretical knowledge of the continuous Doherty power amplifier is introduced.Then,some modules of the Doherty power amplifier are explained.Finally,according to the overall design,the layout is plotted and the circuit is debugged.Within the range of 0.5GHz-1.1GHz,the saturated power added efficiency is greater than 40% and the gain is greater than 10 dB.3.The frequency reconfigurable and continuous Doherty power amplifier is studied.Firstly,the reconfigurable theory is described.Then,a new implementation plan is proposed.The input matching circuit adopts the broadband structure that allows signal in 0.5GHz-1.6GHz passing with ultra-low loss.The output matching circuit adopts a tunable comb filter structure.Experimental data shows that the saturated power added efficiency exceeds 35% and the gain is above 9dB in the range of 0.725GHz-1.225 GHz.4.The bandwidth reconfigurable and continuous Doherty amplifier is designed,which is reconfigurable in the range of 0.7GHz-1.7GHz.The saturated power added efficiency is about 40%.And the gain is above 9d B.
