The rapid development of multimedia applications lead to the explosive growth of the users,video communication is becoming the most critical applications in the multimedia business areas.As the number of video users increasing and a wide variety of new video business constantly emerging,video application impose strict requirements on the traditional network architecture.Due to the mismatch of the current advance of the video business,the traditional network architecture is difficult to meet the needs of future video services,and thus network innovation is imperative.Software defined Network(SDN)is a new network architecture,which can address this challenging issue and has become an active research topic.Due to the intelligence and flexibility of the network resources scheduling,SDN has become a kind of effective means to improve the video communication.SDN as a new type of network architecture,its global control ability,routing flexibility,and many open source implementations has attracted numerous attention.Therefore,the scheduling algorithm and the performance of video business analysis based on SDN is explored in this thesis.This work aims to improve the network utilization,allocating network resources,and provide better video service to end users.The main work of this thesis is as follows:(1)According to the diversity of video service and the different QoS requirements of different services,a video stream classification model is established,and scheduling algorithms at the SDN switch queue are analyzed.In this thesis,differentiated service is applied to video stream scheduling mechanism.Based on preemptive and PGPS scheduling algorithms,a hybrid scheduling mechanism is proposed.This mechanism provides different QoS guarantees for different video services,which can meet the scheduling requirements of various multimedia video service types.(2)The performance parameters of the video stream scheduling scheme are analyzed by using the network calculus to help the SDN controller get the QoS parameter,and get the delay and backlog parameters for single switch node and multi-node switch respectively.In order to get more accurate QoS parameters in the queue,stochastic network calculus is introduced to analyze the video stream in the scheduling algorithm.Finally,the performance of the scheduling algorithm is verified by simulation experiment(3)An SDN-based campus network video communication platform is built,and different types of video service transmission are carried out on the experimental platform.The relevant experimental data are obtained,by which the theoretical analysis is verified.In summary,this paper focuses on the scheduling mechanism of video stream in SDN,and proposes a hybrid scheduling algorithm for different type of video services.The network calculus theory is introduced to the performance analysis of the proposed scheduling algorithm.We believe that this would make the SDN controller acquiring network performance parameters accurately and meeting the requirements of various multimedia video services.
