Mesoscale eddy information detection is one of the important contents in the process of ocean remote sensing image data processing and feature visualization for marine information detection.Mesoscale eddies are a common marine phenomenon in the world's major oceans.Mesoscale eddy has a great kinetic energy,which transport the heat,salt and chemicals in the sea water.At the same time,it will also disrupt the smoothness of the sea,which will cause great impact on the marine organisms and marine fisheries,and will also damage the shipping.Therefore,it has great significance and scientific value to observe and recognize this feature construction with the method of feature visualization.In order to improve the accuracy of the mesoscale eddy information extraction,the closure of the vortex in the image is detected and the characteristic parameters of the vortex is extracted based on the satellite remote sensing image data,the characteristics of the mesoscale eddy imaging,the edge detection,the connected region extraction technology,and the criterion of the vortex shape and scale.The mesoscale eddy detection system is designed and realized using hybrid programming of Matlab and C#,and the mesoscale eddy detection algorithm with remote sensing data.This system can realize the automation and visualization of the mesoscale eddy detection and improve the efficiency of the remote sensing image processing.The main research work and achievements of this paper are as follows:(1)In order to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the mesoscale eddy detection,the data of remote sensing image is preprocessed first to determine what type of imaging mode is.The situation of ocean environment monitoring under different imaging modes is different.Then,polarization correction,radiometric calibration,image compression,edge detection and image thinning are applied to image data.By comparing several typical edge detection algorithms,we detect the edge of image based on Canny operator.Experiments show that the edge detection effect is ideal.(2)By comparing the advantages and defects of the mesoscale eddy detection algorithms and the essence of various algorithms,a mesoscale eddy detection algorithm based on connected region extraction is proposed in this paper.First,several commonly used connected region extraction methods are compared on the basis of image preprocessing;the direct scanning labeling algorithm is used and improved to mark the continuous region as the same region,and the characteristic parameters are calculated.Secondly,the detection of these connected regions is used to judge the mesoscale vortex circular arc.Finally,the mesoscale eddy is fitted based on three point fixed circle principle.Experiments show that this method has high mesoscale eddy detection accuracy and ideal detection effect.(3)According to the demand of mesoscale eddy detection,a design scheme of mesoscale eddy detection system is proposed based on the consideration of detection efficiency,accuracy and visualization.This system is realized by Matlab language and C# language.(4)The realization method,operation process and data preservation method of mesoscale eddy detection system are introduced in detail in this paper.The final detection data of mesoscale eddy is saved in the form of HDF5,which is convenient for later query and use.The system can be used at the computer,and the detection results of remote sensing images in each step are displayed step by step.This system can meet requirements of detection and visualization,and the detection efficiency is improved.
