In recent years,the radar technology achieved rapid development.By increasing the resolution of radar,its scope of functions and applications are becoming wider.Target characteristics analysis are significant for the research and development for radar,it includes macroscopic characteristics and microscopic characteristics.The macroscopic characteristics include Radar Cross Section(RCS),the scattering field phase,linear glint errors,and their variations with frequency,aspect angle and polarizations.Microscopic characteristics include the scattering centers,high-resolution radar image characteristics and so on.On the macroscopic characteristics analysis,we need to obtain scattering databank of the interested target above all.In the first place,the geometry models of typically missiles(short-range,medium-range,long-range)are build.Then,the scattered fields of these targets are computed by the Multilevel Fast Multipole algorithm(MLFMA).Subsequently,the macroscopic scattering characteristics of the various types of missiles are investigated in detail.To be noted that the geometry parameters of these missiles all come from the open internet,not related with the real war weapons.this work is only for propose of scientific research.On the microscopic characteristics analysis,the attributes(location and scattering amplitude in change with frequency,aspect angle and polarizations)of scattering centers on these targets are analyzed,according to their formation mechanisms.To visually show the attributes of the target scattering centers,time-frequency representation(TFR)are applied to scattered waves,the obtained 2-D image show the Doppler characteristics of individual scattering centers due to relative motion of the target and the radar.The scattering centers and the corresponding TFRs of the interested missile targets are investigated in this work.The innovation lies in: this work give a wide cover of scattering characteristics analysis of various types of missiles targets.Besides,the scattering databank of these targets are built by full-wave numerical method,based on which,macroscopic and microscopic scattering characteristics of these targets are investigated comparatively.The reached results by this work are of certain significance for the air-defense and the radar technology.
