NoC(Network-on-Chip)is widely considered and researched by the academic community as a new type of inter-core interconnection method that replaces buses.Nowadays, the complexity of on-chip systems is increasing and on-chip systems have higher requirements on the communication performance and scalability of NoC.The optimization of communication performance for NoC has become one of the research hotspots. While the network on chip is rapidly developing,NoC is threatened by hardware Trojans during the design or manufacturing process. The attackers use NoC's vulnerability to attack the system on chip.Research on the vulnerability of NoC has also become a new research hotspot. The main work of this article is as follows:1)CDMA Network-on-Chip CODEC optimizationFor the NoC optimization, this thesis presents a new type of CDMA(Code Division Mu-ltiple Access)NoC parallel CODEC(Coder-Decoder)technology.Based on the serial CODEC using one-hot code, this thesis simplified it by using a logic circuit with a small area power consumption to obtain a new parallel CODEC NPC(New Parallel CODEC).The NPC can correctly encode and decode data while reducing the area power consumption overhead, and can reduce the data transmission delay caused by encoding and decoding. To reveal the benefits of our method we apply our NPC to CDMA NoCs and perform extensive experiments. From the results,we can find that our method outperforms existing parallel CODECs,such as WPC(Walsh-based Parallel CODEC)and OPC(Overloaded Parallel CODEC).Specifically,it improves the critical point of communication latency(7.3% over WPC and 13.5% over OPC),reduces packet latency jitter by about 17.3%(against WPC)and 71.6%(against OPC),and improves energy efficiency by up to 41.2%(against WPC)and 59.2%(against OPC).2)Network-on-Chip hardware security researchTo provide benchmarks for future research on defense strategies for NoC hardware security, this paper designs and implements four kinds of hardware Trojans that can be inserted into the NoC,such as Livelock,Deadlock,Misrouting, and Replay. The experiment proves that the designed Trojan accounts for less than 0.4% of the NoC power consumption and the area is less than 1.5%.Experiment shows that the Misrouting and Deadlock Trojans have the function of enabling the NoC.The Livelock and Replay Trojans can reduce the network throughput.
