In actual industrial and chemical productions, any process has a specified production index, which is often considered as a state of reference model. To track the state of the reference model effectively, most researchers design the corresponding controllers to achieve the tracking target.Because of the complexity of the controlled systems or reference models, the design of the controllers are complex.Meanwhile, most researches study model reference state tracking problem in a infinite period. However, the researches of model reference state tracking over a finite-time interval is still in the early stage of development. Therefore, the transient performance of the system has attracted the attention of scholars. This paper studies the problem of model reference finite-time state tracking. The main contributions are as follows:Firstly, the problem of model reference state tracking is studied base on the method of switched control.According to the state tracking error between the state of the controlled system and the reference model, the operating state of the controlled system is divided into two cases, that is matched and unmatched states.Meanwhile, the switching signal is designed according to the state tracking error. Therefore, the controlled system can be considered as a switched systems with two subsystems. Then, the control method of switched systems is adopted to solve the state tracking problem. Then, the problem of state tracking between the controlled system and the reference model over a finite-time interval is analysed based on the traditional Lyapunov asymptotic stability theory and the finite-time control method. It has been proved by theoretical analysis that the state tracking error can satisfy the given index over the finite-time interval as long as the controlled system satisfies the given constraints. On the basis of the above research contents, this paper also studies the problem of unmeasured state and actuator saturation for the controlled system. In view of the unmeasured state of the controlled system, the corresponding full-dimensions state observer is designed and the corresponding conditions of the full-dimensions state observer are given. In view of the actuator saturation of the controlled system, the definition of the actuator saturation rate is given in this paper, and the relationship between the actuator saturation ratio and the conservatism of the controlled system is analyzed.
