In recent years,as a nascent technology,big data can play an important role in all walks of life.There have been major Internet companies explosive growth can be said that big data technology contributed.Internet companies develop big data technology from the beginning of the creation.They analysis customer exhaustive using big data technology such as psychological analysis and customer needs,targeted marketing,so as to obtain a substantial increase.Telecommunications carriers have hundreds of millions of users,but in recent years experienced declining revenue problem.It is the trueth that the traditional revenue decline,while the amount of new business income can not effectively compensate for the decline in traditional revenue.Nowadays telecommunications can only rely on sales basic services such as voice traffic or data flow to survive,completely reduced to a "pipeline" company.In order to survive in the market and expand business revenue,telecommunications have to face the problems and challenges from all sides.The use of Big Data technologies and revenue growth would be a effective way.In this paper,starting from the definition of big data,it describes the technical background of big data and cites several success stories.Illustrate the importance of big data in all aspects of society from a global perspective.Telecommunications carriers have their own inherent advantages in the development of big data,but they also have to face some of the inescapable questions.From the beginning of data extraction,analysis of different user needs and preferences,and develop content recommendation to prepare for the follow-up policy.
