In order to meet the growing communication requirements, the higher requirements of next generation mobile communication system have been put forward, including high data rate, low network latency and so on.Represented by 3GPP LTE,key technologies such as OFDM and MIMO are applied to increase spectral efficiency and system throughput, which results in more complex resource management and causes inter-cell interference that affects the system performance especially the quality of service of cell-edge users. Therefore, increasing the spectrum resource utilization and improving the quality of edge-user service are urgent problems to be solved in the LTE system. In this paper,we propose a resource blocks allocation scheme based on ant colony algorithm to address the multi-user resource allocation problem and achieve the allocation of multiple resource blocks. The cell is divided into central area and edge area by considering the different characteristics of users located in different areas. The cell-center users employ the ant colony algorithm to allocate the resource blocks and optimize system throughput while ensuring fairness among users. This paper proposes a dynamic allocation scheme based on cognition for cell-edge users in LTE system. The new scheme is to address the poor communication service problem caused by co-channel interference among the cell-edge users in the LTE system. The scheme leverages the cognitive characteristic in the LTE system to enable the base station to obtain the spectrum usage status information of the adjacent cells by using the X2 interface. Then it integrates the idle resource information of the target cell, and learns the idle resource blocks available to users of the cell-edge,and then,it employs the improved ant colony algorithm to allocate the resource blocks to users and achieves dynamic borrowing of the idle resource blocks of the adjacent cells. In the end,the paper tests the resource allocation scheme in detail by building a system testing environment to carry out experimental verification.Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is effective and correct, which enhances resource blocks utilization and system throughput while ensuring fairness among users, thus may improve the quality of user service at the cell-edge.
