With the world to explore the continuous rise of the ocean boom, the application of wireless sensor network technology is no longer rigidly adhere to the perception and acquisition of information on land, and gradually move to the vaster ocean. As an extension of the traditional wireless sensor network, the underwater wireless sensor network has a wide application prospect in the exploration and development of seabed mineral resources, water pollution control, tsunami and earthquake warning, navigation and positioning, military strategic deployment and so on,which attracted the attention of many researchers. The rapid development of underwater wireless sensor network has brought many opportunities, also faced with some urgent technical problems at the same time.On the one hand, the underwater channel has its own terrestrial communication protocol and network model can not be directly applied to the three-dimensional water environment because of its low transmission rate and high delay and so on.On the other hand,as a basic problem in research of the underwater wireless sensor networks, the advantages and disadvantages of node deployment mechanism directly determines the ability of the whole network to perceive, acquire and process the interesting data. Therefore, this dissertation discusses the impact of different deployment algorithms on network coverage performance around the node deployment problem of underwater wireless sensor networks. The main contents of the study are as follows:A node deployment algorithm for underwater wireless sensor networks based on depth adjustment mechanism is proposed to solve the problem of nodes' hierarchical coverage in water environment. The algorithm first completes the selection of the scheduling nodes by calculating the Voronoi polygon area corresponding to each underwater sensor node.Secondly, the depth adjustment scheme is carried out according to the sinking distance of the scheduling node. And finally,a hierarchical 3D node deployment target is realized. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme shows good performance in terms of network coverage and connectivity between nodes. In order to further study the problem of node redundancy coverage in underwater wireless sensor networks,a node deployment strategy based on directed virtual distance is designed for randomly deployed underwater sensor nodes. This strategy decomposes the moving process of the node into several steps.Every node adjusts the coordinate of the distance between the equilibrium distance and the neighbor node in each step,so that the nodes in the networks move from the concentrated coverage area to the sparse area, therefore, achieving the maximum extent coverage of the target monitoring waters. The simulation results show that the node deployment strategy has a significant improvement in reducing redundant coverage and reducing network overhead compared with the random deployment mechanism.
