With the rapid development of modern industry,the designs of modern industrial products are becoming increasingly complex and diversified,such as 3D printing models,game and animation models,and computer aided geometric designs,etc.Relying on traditional rules of model features already can not satisfy the needs of modern development.Using free shape features,by copied,pasted,combined together,and arrayed design,to realize the rapid design of complex model products,is of great significance to the demands of the present industrial design.Since freedom features are with the characteristics of complex grid structure,and rich grid details,how to deal with interactive design of those features with the constraint of array type design reuse on complex meshes,is now the main problem of the 3D mesh modeling.In this paper,with the aim of improving the efficiency of grid model design,the main purpose of this paper is to use the constraint design reuse on complex mesh surface,and the main research contents and results are as follows:(1)Research the rapid identification and segmentation of freedom features and how to deal with the fairing optimization of extraction of interested feature.By improving the feature extraction method,we put forward a minimum convex hull features optimized control method,making the stronger adaptability of extracted features.(2)Research the mechanism of boolean operation in grid integration of feature reuse,and optimize the long and narrow triangles during feature reuse,so as to make the stability of the grid.(3)Put forward a framework of arraying design and reuse of detail-preserving feature on mesh.Aiming at the difficulty of arraying design on complex grid surface,a detail-preserving method is proposed to realize the circular array,rectangular array,arbitrary path array and mirror reuse operation,which greatly improves the efficiency of modeling.(4)Put forward a shape similarity evaluation method of feature reuse based on mesh parameterization.To solve the difficulty of feature quality before and after deformation,the method of shape similarity evaluation we proposed is not subject to translation,rotation,scaling and non-rigid deformation operation of feature reuse.Combine those algorithms,this paper developed an arraying interactive design software module of free shape features,which can realize rapid extraction of complex grid features,and feature reuse module of annular array,rectangular array,arbitrary path array and mirror reuse operation on complex curved surface,and similarity evaluation module.
