Odors identification as one of the research branches of artificial intelligence can be used as an olfactory perception unit for mobile robotics.This makes it a very prospective technology.In this paper,an odors identification system is fabricated based on gas sensor array,also including signal conditioning circuit,signal acquisition module and data processing software.We also elaborate on data pretreatment,training process and recognition methods which can be applied to odors identification.These are all implemented in data processing software.The user can install data processing software in a smartphone,and obtain sensing data from signal acquisition module by Bluetooth,view resistances and voltages and voltage response curves of gas sensors,train odor types and identify the type of inputted unknown odor,record gas sensors response data and replay the response process.At last,to verify the system's identification ability and application,we give several examples,including identifying a variety of common odors from daily-life,identifying apples ripeness,judging the status of air quality and evaluation of food freshness.With experimental data,pretreatment,odors training and identification are done.Experimental results show that this system can identify different odors correctly.It can also be applied to full-time monitoring of air pollutants under specific scenarios such as smart home and industrial production sites.The system has advantages of low cost,portability and can be combined with smartphones for information processing,which make it more practicable and versatile.
