Multiple Input Multiple Output,or MIMO improves channel capacity and system throughput markedly by allocating multiple antennas in transmitter and receiver, thus becoming one of the key technologies in wireless communication. However, the main disadvantage of any MIMO scheme, which is caused by huge Inter-Antenna Interference(IAI),is an increase in complexity and cost of receiver.Meanwhile,Generalised Spatial Modulation(GSM)is a method for reducing or even eliminating IAI by decreasing number of antennas which are radiating signals simutaneously. As a contrast to conventional MIMO,SM takes spatial domain as a way to transmit extra information.Similar to SM,PSM(Pre-coding Spatial Modulation)reduces number of antennas receiving signals simutaneously, which requires CSI at transmitter to eliminate IAI previously. For PSM assigns most of caculating work to transmitter, reducing comlexity of receiver remarkably,it is applicable to downlink communication scenario of base station to multiple moblie users in the cellular network. This paper first introduces research background and status of GSM,GPSM at home and abroad. Then elaborates the system model, working principle and system characteristic of V-BLAST system in MIMO technology. And the system model and system characteristics of spatial modulation system is explained in greater detail. This paper mainly studies the system performance of GPSM scheme in singleuser mode.Firstly, the system model of the scheme is introduced, including the modulation method of transmission symbol, the main detection scheme and working principle. Then,ZF and MMSE pre-coding solutions are introduced.whose upper bound of ABEP is deduced. The analytical and numerical results are compared with each other to verify the correctness. And the BER performance simulation, rate matching analysis and robustness analysis of the PSM scheme are conducted to compare with the traditional MIMO scheme in terms of BER performance, system throughput and robustness and receiver complexity.Second, the GPSM scheme is applied to multi-user scenarios for performance analysis, using linear and nonlinear precoding techniques.Three kinds of multi-user linear precoding schemes are introduced, and the advantages and disadvantages of the three schemes are compared and analyzed by combining with the GPSM scheme.Third,a multi-user nonlinear precoding technique,THP(Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding)precoding technique,is introduced, and a multi-user single-stream system is extended to a multi-user multi-stream system to cooperate with GPSM.Finally, the "best-first" sorting method is studied to minimize BER performance difference of users. The simulation results show that the overall performance of the system is improved.
