In the rotary steerable system of oil drilling,the orientation control unit and the measurement while drilling unit are separated on different drill pipes,thus making it difficult to communicate with each other,wired connection is used in China。However,wired connection is not so reliable,down hole wireless short hop is required to replace wired connection。Existing wireless equipments on the ground can not work when they are placed under ground,as the electromagnetic wave fade quickly in the mud、the antenna on the ground doesn’t fit the environment underground、the high temperature underground may cause electronic component stop working and there is too much electromagnetic noise。These problems lead to the result that no down hole short hop equipment existing in China。To solve these four main problems,this paper trying to realize downhole short hop with wroks below:1、Simulate the fading of EM wave in mud.2、Design the antenna.3、Choose the way of modulation.4、Design the impedance mateching network.5、Experimental verification.
