With the booming development of the semiconductor technology and the electronics industry,the detection technology of chip defect plays an increasing role in the whole industrial production process.Compared with the traditional manual method,the surface mount components defect detection technology,based on the machine vision system,treated as one of the non-contact,flexible,real-time,and high-precision detection technologies,has been widely applied.The paper is mainly studying the surface mount components defect detection technology based on the machine vision system to realize the appearance dimensions detection of SMT chip.The paper is mainly studying the surface mount components defect detection technology and the pre-processing technology.The main contents are as follows:(1)Increased the original image by using histogram equalization and the improved median filter algorithm.(2)Compared and analyzed with the experimental results of traditional edge detection method,the improved Canny edge detection algorithm and the improved ant colony edge detection algorithm in the edge detection,finally used the improved Canny edge detection algorithm in this paper.(3)Achieved the accurate detection and recognition of the SMT chip by the dimension detection of the pin width and the pin length based on the edge detection chip and the pin length based on the binarization chip.(4)Designed the detection system of chip defect,and gived a detailed introduction on the software and hardware.Achieved the appearance detection of chips with the above method on the software platform in this paper.
