The most important development in contemporary industrial systems and commercial systems is the integration of communication, computing and the control into dissimilar levels of machine tasks and information process. When system components exchange the information by traditional way which involves wires and that limits reliability and scalability, flexibility, while cabling cost is quite high, and cable connectors are very easy to damage, connector failures can be quite difficult to isolate. This risk can be decreased by adding communication networks, which results in better reliable system and cost efficient too.A Networked Control System (NCS) consists of communication network. The continuous time measurement is often quantized and sampled before the transmission. After that measurement is sent to remote controller through communication channel, and this is when signal maybe delayed or lost, sometimes it cannot be transmitted because of power or communication constraints. In this thesis presented a Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) based technique for the designing of time driven controller for controlling a certain plant over network with packet dropout and random variable delay also termed as jitter. The system consisting of network and controller is formulated as arbitrary switching system amongst its constituent subsystems, because of jitter and/or data loss. The formulations that are presented in this thesis uses a disturbance attenuation level as specification. Hence, the satisfaction of these linear Matrix Inequalities shows that particular designed controller guarantees that system maintains similar disturbance attenuation level even in the presence of jitter and/ or data loss when controlled over a certain network. Finally, the methodology has been verified with reliable results and also compared with the results of contemporary researchers.
