There is a very close relationship between the distribution of liquid water content in the cloud and the weather process. The accurate measurement of cloud water content may have significant importance in improving the capability of meteorological observation. In recent years, with the deepening research of climate change, domestic and foreign scholars carried out a lot of research on the change of cloud liquid water content. The measurement of cloud liquid water content in meteorological observation mainly depends on the traditional measurement methods, but these sensors designed by these methods are relatively high power and large measurement error. Traditional cloud liquid water sensors are relatively large measurement error, high power and low precision. A miniaturized cloud liquid water sensor by the radiosonde has been designed.A conputational fluid dynamics method is implemented to simulate the sensor probe and to verify the feasibility of the cloud liquid water sensor. The cloud liquid water sensor mainly consists of analog signal detection circuits, embedded processing circuits, data transmission circuits, etc. The system uses STM32F103RBT6 as the primary controller device and Pt100 as temperature measurement element. RS232 communication protocol can achieve the goal of system data communication between upper computer and lower computer. A fuzzy adaptive PID algorithm is employed to control the temperature of the sensor, which is beneficial to improve measurement accuracy. A 24-bit ADC measurement and control circuit is designed to improve the measurement accuracy. The experiment results show that the sensor consumes only 1.63W power, when the cloud liquid water content is 1.0 g/m3. Compared with traditional cloud liquid water content sensors, this cloud liquid water sensor has the advantages of low power consumption and high precis ion.
