Content Centric Networking(CCN),as a brand new network architecture,subverts the "host to host" communication mode in IP network,with named content as the focus of network,instead of named host.CCN decouples content in network with their location by the routing based on named content,and improves the efficiency of content distribution and reduces the load of the network by thein-network caching as well.As the explosive growth of the number of smart devices.Ad hoc networks have been applied to various environments for multi-media content dissemination,such as vehicle networking and mobile social networks.In ad hoc networks,small network capacity and node mobility restrict the efficiency for users to obtain the multimedia content seriously.Therefore,CCN can be introduced into ad hoc networks to improve the efficiency of content delivery.For now,the study about the related technologies of CCN focus on wired network scenario,and the research for CCN in wireless network scenario is still in its infancy.The common existing simulation platform for CCN cannot support the performance verification of related research of CCN in wireless network scenario.In addition,compared with wired networks,wireless ad hoc networks has the following characteristics:self-organization and limited caching space.Hence,the existing caching strategies for wired CCN can't give full play to the role of caching when migrated into ad hoc networks.This thesis is based on the National Natural Science Foundation "The Research of Caching for Content Centric Mobile Social Networking" and the Open Foundation of Beijing Key Laboratory of Network System Architecture and Convergence "The Research of Caching for Content Centric Wireless Networks based on User Preferences".Considering the features of ad hoc networks,a simulation platform for content centric ad hoc networks is built and the caching for content centric ad hoc networks is studied in this thesis.In this thesis,first of all,the basic concepts and key issues of CCN is introduced and the research present condition of caching technologies for CCN is summarized.The key issues,application scenarios as well as research review on caching is discussed.Then,the development of simulation platform for content centric ad hoc networks is fulfilled,based on the platform architecture and implementation process of the current version of ndnSIM.We analysis the demand for the simulation platform for content centric ad hoc networks and design the corresponding function.The function of ndnSIM is verified by simulation.In the end,caching for content centric networks is discussed and studied.A caching model is built and used to analysis the influence factors of caching hit ratio in network.Simultaneously,considering the features of ad hoc networks,a generalized dominating set based caching strategy is designed.The performance of the proposed caching strategy is analyzed theoretically,in terms of latency of content acquirement and energy consumption and so on.The simulation results show that the proposed caching strategy can obtain higher caching hit ratio and better compromise between occupied caching space latency of content acquirement and reduce the energy consumption as well.
