With the rapid development of Internet technology,the numbers of network users and related business surge enormously.The traditional network architecture based on the TCP/IP protocol makes it difficult that adopt a new architecture or improve the current architecture so that the Internet Ossification Problem appears.Network virtualization facilitates the diversified development of the Internet in the way that allow the multiple virtual networks over the shared substrate network dynamically.This technology provides a flexible environment for the massive service and applications so that it can avoid the Internet Ossification Problem.Compared with the existing network forms,network virtualization technology is promising in the aspect of the network flexibility,security,management,energy efficiency.The virtual network mapping is the core problem of the resources allocation in the network virtualization environment.On the contrary,the virtual network mapping is faced with new challenges:Firstly,the network is failure-prone during the network operation.The network failure,which refers to single substrate node failure or link failure,causes the service disruption over the substrate network so that the user experience is damaged.Secondly,some natural or man-made disaster events such as earthquake and tsunami lead to the consequence of the large-scale regional failures,which bring about enormous economic loss.Therefore,the survivable mechanism should be designed for the virtual network and services over it to get over the effect of substrate network failures.The network survivable mechanism refers to the ability that the network contains the normal function under the man-made or natural disaster scenario.The process of the survivable virtual network mapping can be divided into two stages,one is constructing the network reliability-aware model with the knowledge of the historical failure statistics and the other is improving the virtual network mapping method based on the network reliability-aware model.To solve the problems above,this paper focuses on the regional failure scenario and researches on the network reliability-aware and virtual network mapping mechanism.The main contributions of this paper are as follows:Firstly,combined with the new features of regional failures,the reliability-aware virtual network model to support the mapping method proposed in this paper is established;this model is established relying on probability and statistics with the knowledge of the historical network failures information to analyze the potential network failure so that it can help reducing the capacity loss when a failure occurs.Secondly,a new disaster-prediction based virtual network mapping method is proposed.Combined with the regional failures,compute the potential regional failures risk probability.Reduce the capacity loss of the virtual network when the regional failures happen by making the virtual links evade the severe capacity loss with the predictable regional failures in the initial mapping.
