MiWi protocol has been widely applied into simple communication networks,which developed from IEEE 802.15.4.MiWi has been developed as a specific application of Mobile Ad Hoc Network(MANET).The network nodes in MiWi have limited power just like MANET and the power resource stems from battery which couldn't be charged or maintained once installed.Therefore,how to utilize the limited energy of a network node efficiently has always been the key research point in MANET or MiWi field.And how to design low-power MiWi system would directly affect the performance and promotion of MiWi technology.The details of optimal design and implementation of low-power MiWi system have been discoursed in this thesis,including low-power hardware design,the power management scheme and network energy dissipation balance algorithm research.The main work and invocations of this thesis have been summarized as below.1.Analysis of MiWi system and its power consumption.First,the network features of MiWi and the advantages of taking MiWi technology in simple communication scenes are summarized in this thesis.Then the structure of functional modules in MiWi device and the power consumption of every module are analyzed,as well the energy-saving schemes which has been applied into MANET.Finally,this thesis concludes the key points of the research work during next period according to the analysis above.2.The low-power design of MiWi device.According to the analysis of power consumption of MiWi device,this thesis emphatically carries on the low-power hardware design and power consumption management of data processing module and wireless communication module.Then the practical products are taken into detail tests and finally,this thesis proposes an analysis on the test data.3.The low-power design of MiWi network.After designing the low-power device,the power control scheme on network layer is taken as the key point of the research work when given that the random distribution and local concentration of network nodes in practical networks.Then an optimal route selection algorithm is proposed in this thesis by combining communication probability statistics and the theory of Markov Decision Process.This algorithm can improve the performance and extend the life time of the network by selecting back-up relay nodes for traffic nodes to compensate the huge difference of power consumption among nodes in the network.With system-level test of practical MiWi board,the hardware design and power management scheme get verified.Therefore,the design is suitable for low-power network node system.Moreover,the simulation results of energy dissipation balance algorithm prove that the algorithm can extend the life time of network.
