As the IOT technology has been widely used in the field of production,transportation and retailing,RFID-based item information sharing service is increasingly becoming an urgent need for supply chain participants.The EPCglobal framework proposed by GS1 has offered uniform standards,established and maintained EPC network and provided a guarantee for the sharing of item information in supply chain.With the development of cloud computing technology,in order to provide universal EPCIS service to various of enterprises and companies,many developed countries eager to bulid EPCIS cloud services by building EPCIS service based on cloud computing platform to meet current need for the sharing of item information.For the reasons above,we deploy EPCIS and EPCDS into OpenStack cloud platform to design and implement EPC cloud service on the basis of item tracking service we implemented before.Firstly we introduce the standard framework of EPCglobal and describe the functions of its all layers.Then we lead up the concept of cloud computing and compare advantages and disadvantages of each cloud computing platform.In order to meet the requirements of real-time query for massive data,we choose OpenStack as the basic environment for EPC cloud service and introduce the advantage of EPC cloud service compared to the traditional EPCglobal services.Based on the works above,we build OpenStack platform,uncouple EPCIS and EPCDS modules from the original framework by analyzing each module's function and implement mechanism and combine them with cloud computing technology to design and implement an EPC cloud service based on OpenStack.We describe the framework,the workflow and each module's function of EPC cloud service in detail.Then we design and implement the EPCIS capture and query module,the EPCDS tracking and address mapping module,and the distributed database based on MySQL cluster.Finally we take a series of tests on the OpenStack platform,the EPC service and the database cluster to verify the functions and performances of the system we implemented.The OpenStack based EPC service we implement uses the EPCIS implemented on AWS EC2 for reference and chooses a similar framework OpenStack as its cloud environment to satisfy the demands of real-time query for massive item data.It has the potential to be promoted in practice.Meanwhile,by deploying EPCDS into the cloud,we can extend the function of EPCIS cloud service and achieve the aim of tracing and tracking.
