As an emerging communication technology, wireless optical communication technology is becoming an important means of information transmission. There are many advantages for wireless optical communication system, such as great information capacity, good security and confidentiality, low operating costs,no need to use the band license, quick network construction erection and so on.However, the medium has a great influence on the quality of communication. In this context, the transmission performance of wireless optical communication system needs to be further improved.Launching a study on laser communication in the hydrometeor environment possesses both theoretical and practical significance. It can not only enrich the existing scattering theory, expand the present research system and lay a solid foundation for deeper research, but also promote the popularity of wireless optical communication technology, and help do research on related products on the basis of laser's scattering characteristics in the hydrometeor environment.Based on the physical characteristics of the hydrometeor environment, the thesis firstly introduces the relevant parameters of the hydrometeor environment briefly, after which the attenuation prediction models of different hydrometeor environments are listed, and the differences among the models are compared. Then three kinds of commonly used light scattering theories are presented, especially Mie scattering theory, which is analyzed and discussed in detail. The energy attenuation characteristics of the wireless optical communication system in the hydrometeor environment medium are analyzed and studied. The focus is on the single condensate environment and the single scattering, and a preliminary simulation test is done for the complex hydrometeor environment.Based on the previous description, the paper puts forward that the energy decays greatly in the process of laser transmission under the special weather phenomenon of mass fog and gives the attenuation prediction model.Through theoretical derivation and analog simulation, the laser signal energy is shown, which is greatly affected with the change of visibility and the size of the mass fog area. Finally,on the basis of the study on the laser in the hydrometeor environment,a design scheme of a fog real-time monitoring system is constructed through the measurement of laser in hydrometeor distribution and the variation of transmission pulse signal.
