A mobile Ad Hoc network is a kind of wireless network technology which has been developed rapidly in recent years.It has many characteristics such as distributed networking,no center node,multi-top and supporting high mobility.The mobile Ad Hoc network plays an increasing important role in battle fields,disaster relief,maritime communications and other fields because of its flexibility,no dependence on infrastructure and anti-destruction ability.Due to the broadcast characteristics of wireless channel,media access control(MAC)protocols determine the allocation of wireless channel resources and its efficiency.Therefore the MAC protocol is the key technology to enhance the performance of mobile Ad Hoc networks.For a specific Ad Hoc network application platform this paper proposes the MAC protocol via time division multiple access(TDMA).First of all,the functions of MAC protocol are introduced in this paper.Then this paper describes the key technical issues on the design process.Secondly,according to the design requirements of the system,this paper describes every module of the MAC protocol.The synchronization process of the MAC protocol includes the synchronization between the MAC and baseband,and the distributed synchronization between nodes will be detailed described.By considering the waiting time,queue length,MTU value and priority to ensure that the nodes can be accessed into the wireless channel with fair.Through the pre-scheduling program,the transmission delay can be reduced and the system throughput can be improved.In addition,the design and implementation of high-speed communication interface Mc BSP between MAC and baseband is also completed for the specific hardware platform,which provides effective support for the performance improvement of broadband ad hoc network.In order to verify the correctness and validity of the design,the function and performance of the MAC protocol are evaluated and tested on the hardware platform of the ad hoc network,including one-hop node network,two-hop node network,ping packet on network player and camera function.The test results show that the MAC protocol is accurate in synchronization,the network is fast and accurate,and the data interface is stable at high speed.The feasibility of the MAC protocol is verified by practical application.
