Due to its negative permittivity and negative permeability, the left-handed materials have special electromagnetic properties.Since the success of artificial synthesis,left-handed materials have become the much-talked-about topics of physics and electromagnetism. Split ring resonator (SRR) and complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) are the main forms of left-handed materials. Based on their planar structure, it's easy to use microstrip technology, small size and other advantages, SRR and CSRR are of concern, and applied to the antenna and microwave devices filters. With the development of wireless communication technology, the miniaturization of microwave devices has become a trend. The practical application of the discovery of CSRR is more easy to construct, this paper mainly studies the electromagnetic characteristics of CSRR, to suppress the coupling between microstrip antenna array with CSRR structure, and uses the CSRR structure to design a high performance miniaturized low-pass filter. The main work of this paper includes the following aspects:(1)The paper introduces the basic knowledge of the left-handed materials theroy, analyzes the basic structure and electromagnetic properties of CSRR are analyzed. This paper introduces the basic knowledge of microstrip antenna, analyzes two numerical analysis methods of FEM and MOM, and verifies the feasibility and practicability of Matlab.(2)Based on the analysis of the coupling mechanism between microstrip antennas, a microstrip patch antenna array is designed by using DGS. The antenna array is used to etch the CSRR structure on the ground floor to change the electric field distribution on the ground floor and suppress the mutual coupling between microstrip antenna arrays.can reach -47.6dB at the center of resonance frequency,and a good depressing effect is obtained. In addition, the structure is etched on the ground floor without any change to the dielectric substrate, the processing is convenient, and the antenna miniaturization can be realized.(3)Based on the theory of filter, a low-pass filter is designed by using CSRR DGS.The structure and equivalent circuit of CSRR DGS are designed and analyzed,and the influence of different external diameter, radial distance, ring width and opening distance is simulated. At both ends of the microstrip line loaded with symmetric stubs to expand the stopband bandwidth of CSRR DGS structure, this paper designed a cascaded CSRR DGS low-pass filter, and achieved good results.
