In a Visible Light Communication(VLC)system,high-speed signal is transmitted based on visible light which is regarded as the carrier.Lighting and communication are combined in VLC.VLC has a much wider spectrum bandwidth in comparison with wireless spectrum resource and has many advantages which are not available by other communication technology,so it has much research value and can be applied in many scenarios. In other positioning technology, the hardware is complex and the cost is high,VLC has solved the problem and become the focus in the field of indoor positioning. This paper first compares various indoor positioning technology, highlighting the importance of VLC positioning technology. We established a VLC system based on the theory of lighting and wireless communication technology, including the signal terminal, the transmitter, the receiver and the output terminal and designed every module of the system.A three-dimensional(3D)localization method based on LED-ID is proposed in this paper. The positioning model and algorithm of this method are designed based on Lambert model and non-directional direct link channel.A concrete scheme example is given and the positioning accuracy is studied.A solution to the positioning blind spot is proposed without affecting the original precision. The location identification of the model can establish a simple and clear relationship with the actual position. The method is not only suitable for 2D positioning,,but also can easily expand to 3D.It solves the problem that the positioning algorithm is complex and provides a practical and accurate method for 3D positioning.
