Software-defined packet transport network (SPTN) uses SDN architecture for PTN networks, combining SDN centralized intelligent control with PTN's efficient multi-service forwarding capability for data optimization, carrier-class high reliability and end-to-end QoS guarantee.SPTN provides the intelligent control plane technology for the PTN network. It realizes the fast opening of services and real-time on-demand adjustment of bandwidth, and provides an open standard interface and a friendly user interface. SPTN technology is currently in the rapid development stage, the extensions of southbound protocol in OAM, Qos and protection are considered as a research subject. In addition, since control plane can get the whole view of network due to the separation of control and forwarding, the cross-domain routing calculation of hierarchical architecture is different from existing routing calculation.Southbound switching device vendors are various and there are great differences between their devices leading to complex management. To solve the problems, southbound control agent technology is worth being studied. In this paper, the main research contents are as follows.Firstly, research on the southbound OpenFlow protocol and OF-CONFIG protocol information model extension scheme for SPTN,summarized the SPTN multi-level flow table specification and processing pipeline, QoS, OAM and other aspects of the expansion requirements,which provides the basis for the design and development of the controller south interface module and the device side agent.Secondly, design a multi-controller coordination mechanism and a routing calculation scheme for large-scale multi-domain SPTN network.The resource pre-allocation and locking method is adopted to solve the problem of resource reservation conflict. Meanwhile, combining the parallel computing method of work protection path and the improved signaling interaction mechanism between controllers, it is able to greatly reduce the construction delay. Simulation results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.Thirdly, the requirements analysis of SPTN open control agent technology and the development of software architecture are completed.SPTN equipment can be controlled openly based on the unified information model and the southbound interface, which ensures the protocol communication between the controller and the SPTN equipment,and the mutual mapping between the south message and the underlying operation instructions of the equipment. Furthermore, an open control agent platform based on open control agent architecture is built. The basic function test is carried out and the result is in line with expectation.
