Analog to digital converter ?Analog-to-digital converter ADC? is a bridge between analog and digital world, is a key front-end interface device development of ultra wideband digital system, the rapid development of modern digital system has put forward the severe test of the existing electronic ADC. In order to solve the problems inherent in electronic bottleneck in microelectronics technology fundamentally,all-optical ADC of digitized processing of the analog signal using photonic technology, can realize ADC cannot be realized by large bandwidth and high speed performance. There are still a lot of problems in the existing all-optical ADC research program, which is difficult to obtain high resolution resolution,integration,miniaturization and low power consumption. All optical ADC mainly consists of three parts:sampling, quantization and coding. In the past few decades, the all-optical sampling of analog signals has been fully studied. As one of the key parts of all-optical ADC, all-optical quantization technology needs to be improved. In order to solve the existing problems in all-optical quantization, this paper focuses on the three order nonlinear optical effect,the integration of all optical quantization module and the method of high performance all-optical quantization. The main work of this paper is as follows:1 The current research status of all optical quantization ?AOADC? is reviewed, and the current research direction of all-optical quantization is presented. Effective mode area of communication in the waveguide wavelength 1550 nm is 0.027 ?m2, and nonlinear parameter is 137.8Sw-1m-1, providing experimental support for low power quantization.2 The simulation analysis of Geii.sAs24Se64.5 ridge waveguide structure parameters of supercontinuum high coherence and pulse condition has been achieved,3 The 3-bit and 4-bit all-optical quantization scheme based on Ge11.5As24Se64.5/Ge11.5As24S64.5 chalcogenide waveguide is studied?First of all, through the numerical simulation, the quantization accuracy of 2.98-bit ?Effective number of bit, ENOB? is realized o Furthermore,simulation of the 3.985-bit ENOB also has been analysized, and the theoretical analysis of the feasibility and limitations of higher bit bit quantization has been verified, and we also proposed and verified the optical attenuator quantization scheme.The results of this study has enriched the theory of all-optical analog-to-digital conversion technology, explores the technical solution for the application of nonlinear silicon photonic devices in all-optical ADC, can provide the theoretical basis for research and Realization of integrated, low power consumption and high performance of all-optical ADC, is expected to be widely applied in the field of future ultra wideband optical communication network and high speed information processing.
