In recent years, VoIP technology has gain its rapid development, and it is widely applied to various fields. Traditional VoIP services are mainly used to serve the needs of speech communication between internal personnel of large enterprises. But for the newly established small and medium enterprises or smaller organizations, VoIP service has a certain cost, which is undoubtedly a big expense.This paper designs and implements a VoIP application system in the WLAN environment for the communication between the employees of the small and medium-sized enterprises, which make it effectively reducing the communication cost of them.The main work of this paper includes the following four points:First, the paper analyzes the VoIP traffic model in the small and medium-sized enterprises, and calculates the number of concurrent calls supported by the system according to the traffic volume of the different types of enterprises and the parameters of queuing theory. According to the number of WLAN access points in the enterprise and the existing data traffic, on the basis of guaranteeing the quality of voice calls, it analyzes the voice compression algorithm and the compression interval which conform to the voice traffic demand of small and medium-sized enterprises,and the VoIP application system in the SME WLAN environment Design and implementation to provide a solid theoretical basis. The paper analyzes the general structure of VoIP application system of large enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises in various network environments.Combining with the research conclusion of traffic model and the demand characteristics of small and medium-sized enterprises in WLAN environment, the structure optimization of VoIP system in small and medium-sized enterprises.Second, on the basis of the requirements of the VoIP application in small and medium enterprises, a hardware structure with i.MX6Q CPU,and multiple FXS and FXO lines support is designed, and the U-boot,driver applications and Linux kernel are successively transplanted. The whole hardware can be utilized as the server of the system.Third, a compact voice gateway module is designed and implemented,and structure and implementation detail of the software are introduced.Through the voice gateway module, analog telephones have access to internal VoIP system. Moreover, analog telephones can still connect to internal telephone network and PSTN, and on this basis for the internal VoIP voice terminals through the shared line to provide external call function.Fourth, internal VoIP application system is implemented. Besides the implementation mentioned above, PC client and mobile client are added.As for the server, voice gateway, application service and SIP service are designed and implemented.This paper use a small device to contain voice module and other server modules. This system has the advantages of high integration density, low cost and easy maintenance. The system is able to meet the need of the small and medium-sized enterprises, whilst it effectively reduces the cost of business communications, and facilitate communication between enterprises. Therefore, the system has a certain economic value and market prospects.
