M2M (Machine to Machine) communication refers to the machine to machine communication. After continuous technical development, M2M technology has penetrated into all aspects of society. LTE with its high speed access and low price, is considered to be a suitable bearer network for the future of M2M service. Because LTE is designed for the traditional communication, when the massive M2M terminal access is bound to cause a large number of resource waste problem caused by the preamble collision. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to study the random access process of M2M communication based on LTE system.Firstly, through the research of the traditional random access procedure, the improvement of the random access mechanism is realized, that is in the first step of the random access process the spread spectrum code is used to send ID UE to detect the preamble collision in advance, and then PUSCH will not be allocated to these UEs, thus saving resources.Based on this, this paper also studied how to allocate RB (resource block). We divide all the RBs into three parts: RB for preamble?RB for UE ID and CRC?RB for data transmission, and derive how to allocate them to improve the utilization of resources.Secondly, the RA scheme is simulated and verified. The performance of the new RA scheme is simulated under the Gauss channel condition and the Rayleigh channel condition, and compared with the performance of the traditional RA process. In order to visually describe the advantages of the new random access mechanism in saving resources and user access , the performance under the two conditions are compared.According to the simulation results, it is found that when the number of users increased from 50 to 500, the new random access mechanism under Gauss channel is 8% to 60%, which is more than the traditional random access procedure, and under the Rayleigh channel, the new random access mechanism can save 6% to 50% compared with the traditional random access mechanism. In this paper, based on the traditional random access process, the problem of resource waste in M2M random access has a certain theoretical significance.
