With the rapid development of mobile Internet, mobility management technology has also been widely concerned. Mobile networks show a trend of heterogeneous integration and the evolution to a flat architecture. How to design a more effective and convenient mobility management scheme to achieve smooth handover between different wireless access technologies,at the same time satisfy the low latency, low packet loss rate of mobility management requirements, has become the key. OpenFlow technology separates the data forwarding and the routing control, centralized control and management of the network, has excellent scalability, and can realize the flexible control of routing. The introduction of OpenFlow technology into the field of mobility management has been gradually accepted by scholars at home and abroad, and becomes one of the hotspots of mobility research. Based on OpenFlow technology, the key technology of terminal mobility management is studied. The main work and innovation are as follows:Firstly, in the traditional mobile network, the IP address has dual meanings, which causes inconvenience to the mobility management of the network, the thesis proposes an identity and location separation mechanism. The core idea is to decouple the dual semantics of the IP address, realize the routing function by using the port address of the first-hop switch that the mobile terminal accesses to the network as its Care-of address in the network, and still use the IP address as its identity. Through binding the IP address and the Care-of address of the mobile terminal, the mobility management function of the terminal is realized.Secondly, for the traditional mobile network scalability is poor, different access technologies need corresponding mobility management technology, the OpenFlow-based mobility management scheme is proposed based on the idea of separation of control and forwarding. By installing mobility management on the controller, it is easy to upgrade and extend the equipment, simplify network management, and reduce the cost of operation, maintenance, and deployment.Thirdly, to solve the problem of handover delay caused by frequent handover, the controller can obtain the global network information by introducing the network sensing and initiating the handover request to plan the routing path in advance, can effectively reduce the handover delay. In this paper, the spanning tree model is used, which can effectively reduce the risk of single point failure and improve the stability of the network.Lastly, for the system overhead incurred in the mobility management process, this paper adopts the flow table matching based on OpenFlow protocol to forward the data packets without creating bidirectional tunnels, which can effectively reduce the system overhead. Compared with the proxy mobile IPv6, the scheme proposed in this paper is superior to the proxy mobile IPv6 in terms of signaling cost, data transmission cost and total cost. Finally, in the virtual environment of Mininet, the simulation test is completed and the feasibility of the mobility management scheme based on OpenFlow is verified.
