SDN,the Software Defined Network,provide a series of open interfaces,for example series of network devices,network flows,network topology and so forth,so that software developer can use these interfaces to monitoring and measuring network link status,modify flow actions,config network device.At present stage,SDN network architecture is consist of Infrastructure Layer,Control Layer,Application Layer.Infrastructure Layer also named Data Plane,contain all of flow forward device,in the SDN architecture named SDN switch which controlled by SDN controller through a kind of SDN protocol.OpenFlow protocol used for the most popular protocol which communicate for SDN controller and SDN switch has already mature in industrial community.A lot of network equipment maker use ASIC to support OpenFlow protocol to build their OpenFlow Switch demo.Commercial switches lack of flexibility and software switches lack of forwarding efficiency.To solve this problem,this paper research focus on the design and implement of Open vSwitch based on NetMagic.This thesis instroduce the SDN network architecture base on OpenFlow protocol and OpenFlow Switch work principle at first.Then study the Open vSwitch multi-cache architecture and three algorithm used in Open vSwitch flow table to speed up look up.Employ Open vSwitch in NetMagic machine,designed and implementment the driver system need and difference data packet conversion,designed kernel flow table offload to TCAM strategy and finally,designed the experiment to verify the performance advantage.
