In order to make full use of the big view field of fisheye lens which achieved hemisphere space,and overcome the disadvantages caused by the distortion,this paper put forward a master-slave object surveillance system that combined fisheye camera and PTZ(Pan-Tilt-Zoom)camera.In this system,the fisheye camera as the main camera to detect the moving object in large view field,and the PTZ camera as the slave camera to shot the object image which controlled by the P'T'Z parameters.This master-slave object surveillance system is not only make full use of the advantages of large field of view Angle for fisheye lens but also solve the inherent shortcomings of fisheye image are caused by fisheye lens.It can solve the distortion of the fisheye object in video surveillance system and the problem of low resolution in the physical level.It achieved the single hemisphere video surveillance system which the view field more than 180 o.In order to realize the function of master-slave surveillance system,this paper did some research work as follow.(1)The hardware system was constructed that included a fisheye camera,PTZ camera and the processing and control system.The fisheye camera is the main camera to shot the circular fisheye image which has hemisphere view field.The PTZ camera received the PTZ parameters of the object which mapped from the fisheye image space.The control and processing system realize the moving object detection in fisheye image,the PTZ parameters calculated in fisheye space and the PTZ parameters mapped form fisheye space to PTZ space.(2)The method of moving object detection from fisheye images was proposed which based on the fisheye image directly processing model and the calculation method of the object's P'T'Z parameters in fisheye camera space.Some algorithms are studied which included the fisheye image preprocessing algorithms,the moving objects detection algorithms,and the P'T'Z' parameter calculation.(3)The P'T'Z parameters of the object was mapped from the fisheye coordinate system to PTZ camera coordinate system.Due to the fisheye camera space and PTZ camera space are in different coordinate system,so we need to map the PTZ parameters from fisheye space to PTZ space.This map method can make the PTZ camera shot a high resolution image which controlled by the PTZ parameters.Finally,the experimental results of Master-slave Object Surveillance System with Fisheye Camera and PTZ Camera shows that the PTZ camera can tracking the target quickly and steadily,it can be got the high resolution image.It realizes the single system 180 degree hemisphere video surveillance function of the space,and it has the advantages of simple structure,stable and reliable for the object monitoring.The high resolution PTZ images can do the further processing such as the object identification and trajectory tracking,it has great value in practical application.
