Since the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) comunications have high spectrum efficiency, anti-multipath capability, enables high-speed transmission, etc., in recent years, OFDM is becoming one of the research priorities in high-speed underwater acoustic communication.Existing realizations of OFDM underwater acoustic communication are mostly based on the digital signal processor (DSP) platforms, which have the Fast Fourier Transform Algorithm (FFT) library, but without portability nor interaction. In This thesis, OFDM underwater acoustic communication technology and the Android application developing technology are combined together, aiming to develop the OFDM underwater acoustic communication application based on the Android system platform.The main works are as follows:1. Modeling and simulation on OFDM Underwater acoustic communications,analysising characteristics of the OFDM technology applied in the field of underwater acoustic communication, providing a theoretical basis for the realization of the Android application.2. With the help of Android application developing tools, by using Java native interface(JNI), the Android OFDM underwater acoustic modulation and demodulation library have been completed.3. The OFDM underwater acoustic communication application based on the Android system platform have been overall designed according to the modular software design theory.The application have been divided into three modules, such as graphical user interface module,OFDM modulation and demodulation module, audio sending and capture module; Each module have been respectively achieved; The OFDM underwater acoustic communication application based on the Android system platform have been formed by all the modules by means of multi-threading technology.4. The software debugging and the underwater acoustic experiments in sink verified the correctness of the overall design and the feasibility of the OFDM underwater acoustic communication application based on Android system.
