With the rapid development of digital information technology,the modern visual demand is increasing,the traditional standard-definition video has been unable to satisfy people's need.High-definition and ultra-high-definition has large data and its transmission speed is slow,it puts forward new challenges to video compression coding technology.The compression efficiency compared to the previous generation video coding standard H.264/AVC has been doubled for High Efficiency Video Coding(HEVC)introduces new key technologies and improvements.It is an effective way to solve the problem of high-definition,ultra-highdefinition video storage and transmission.However,the introduction and improvement of its new technologies,while creating a significant increase in the complexity of video compress.It is seriously hindering the application of high-definition,ultra-high-definition video in real time transmission and other important areas.How to reduce the encoding complexity and improve the coding efficiency,so that HEVC fully replace H.264 / AVC,is the research topic of domestic and foreign research scholars.In this paper,the development process of video coding standard and the process of HEVC are briefly introduced,and the encoding process and key technologies are analyzed in detail.On the basis of further analyzing the existed algorithms,an inter-encoding unit fast selection algorithm is proposed.The improved algorithm proposed in this paper is divided into two steps.First of all,this paper proposes the concept of mean prediction depth,that is,the mean depth of the coded unit is obtained,and then the mean prediction depth is obtained for the current coding unit by using the temporal correlation between the coding frames and the spatial correlation between the coding units.It is used to perform a preliminary classification of the current encoding unit.For texture simple areas,cut off unnecessary traversal and for texture complex areas,skip the redundant traversal.For texture medium region,this paper introduces the second concept,and uses the ratio of the rate distortion cost and the total depth of the reference frame coded unit as the division of the medium region,and further cuts out the unnecessary traversal.In this paper,the combination of depth information and rate distortion cost information can accurately reflect the texture features of the coded unit,which is the necessary condition that the algorithm can reasonably skip the redundant traversal.Compared with the reference algorithm,this paper can achieve an average reduction time of about 55%,and only in the high-definition video test,this algorithm can reduce the encoding time to about 60%.It shows that the algorithm satisfies HEVC's requirement for fast compression of high-definition video.The rate distortion curve of the experimental results shows that the algorithm can guarantee the encoded video's quality and prove the feasibility of the algorithm.
