With the requirement of the environmental standard in our cities,and the need of constructing multi-mode integrated transportation system,many cities have begin to heavily develop public transportation.The environmental friendly modern tram traffic system is an efficient medium-low load urban rail transit system,which has been widely used in metropolises abroad due to its low construction cost,short construction period,fast operating speed,high comfort,energy and plot saving and so on.China's modern tram is just at its initial stage.Because of the complex traffic environment in China,can not directly apply the advanced experience of foreign countries,resulting in the operation of the management process of the existence of low traffic efficiency,safety hazards and other serious problems.The modern tram system joined the ground public transportation system relatively lately,which will change the original road traffic planning,management and control,causing disturbances.Well-designed traffic signal control will improve the overall traffic efficiency.From the viewpoint of intelligent traffic control,this paper relies on Beijing Science and Technology Project-"the Research of Modern Tram Operation Collaborative Intelligent Control System",and based on the characteristics of modern tram,study the priority control method of modern tram signal to achieve the expected operation effect of tram,ensuring the operation safety of tram.This paper analyzes the basic vehicle technical characteristics,operational status,scheduling regularity and site setting of modern tram,and researches the conflicts at the intersections with road traffic flows and the influence of the joining of trams on traffic signal control.According to the different traveling modes of the tram at the intersection,the calculation method of the phase minimum green time of modern tram can be calculated.Combining the priority and control requirements of modern tram vehicles,focusing on the passive priority,absolute priority,complete priority and partial priority of the modern tram vehicles at the intersection,and taking typical phase signal control as an example,this paper also establishes the intersection control model of modern trams.On the basis of the operation characteristics of modern tram,train positioning technology and traffic flow detection technology providing the according informations,combined with the tram traffic plan and safety system;the parking line arrival time forecasting model of trams can be established,and also propose the cooperative priority control algorithm of modern trams in the traffic system.From the point of view of the regional control make signal control first,lowering the impact that modified signal priority brings to regional transportation,achieving the goal of coordination of tram lines and signal priority,and finally promoting the overall operation benefit for both tram and road traffic.In the end,the paper uses the simulation of the case,which is a part of the modern tram line of the southern new area of Shenyang Hun,as an example,by comparison and analysis of the condition of the simulation results of before and after the application the signal priority,including the tram and road traffic speed,parking delays,etc.
