With the development of wireless communication technology and the extensive application of portable intelligent devices, the demand for wireless local area network(WLAN)is increasing day by day,the network throughput requirements are getting higher and higher. In order to cope with the growing demand for wireless communication, the IEEE802.11 working group began to study the WLAN standard of the next major evolution:802.11 ax.Channel bonding technology by bonding more bandwidth to directly increase the throughput, the traditional 802.11 standards are working in the 20MHz bandwidth,802.11n binds two adjacent 20 MHz channels to 40 MHz,then the transmission rate doubled improve. In the 802.11ac standard can use 40MHz,80MHz and optional 160MHz bandwidth.Bandwidth expansion makes the limited spectrum resources can be used at the same time is lacking. The existing channel bonding technology still has the disadvantage that the channel utilization is not high and the collision probability is large in the dense network environment, resulting in the decrease of throughput. This paper mainly studies the channel bonding technology under the next generation WLAN,and aims to improve the channel utilization and reduce the collision in the dense network, thus improving the network throughput performance.Firstly, the paper studies the channel bonding technology and the corresponding MAC layer protocol in the existing standard, analyzes the transmission requirement of the next generation WLAN 802.11ax in the dense scene, and analyzes the shortcomings of the current channel bonding mechanism. Then, the paper studies the discontinuous channel bonding in the next generation WLAN,analyzes the equivalent bandwidth and throughput performance, and proposes to add the corresponding field in the RTS/CTS to support the discontinuous channel bonding. Finally, based on the traditional DCF mechanism and the characteristics of discontinuous channel bonding,a new Backoff mechanism is proposed to avoid collision. The simulation results by Matlab show that the double Backoff mechanism of the Primary and Alternative Primary channels can effectively avoid the conflict and obtain the improvement of throughput in the dense scene. The throughput performance of OBSS is simulated, and the results show that the new mechanism can also effectively improve the throughput performance under the OBSS scene.
