Reading is a complicated psychological processing. With the development of hypertext,hyper-reading is becoming an important reading model. However, during hyper-reading process, some problems such as cognitive load and disorientation can be found easily, which have a serious impact on hyper-reading and usability of hyper-reading system. For this case, there are many studies have proposed design recommendations on the basis of reading performance and relevant factors in hypertext environment, which can be tested by questionnaire surveys and empirical researches, while seldom studies analyze the characteristics and patterns in hyper-reading behavior through the perspective of constructing reading psychological model. For these reasons, this study bases on the text representation theory and the bi-processing theory of text comprehension, takes Wikipeedia as the background, uses observational method, interviewing method and concept map method, gives a profound analysis about hyper-reading behavior in Wikipedia. It can be found that hyper-reading is a process of constructing reading psychological model, which includes two processes. In the process of construction, reading nodes are constructed through non-linear reading mode, and in the process of integration, the basic content constructed in construction process will be integrated with readers' prior knowledge, and then a coherent situational model can be formed. This study analyzes the characteristics and patterns in construction stage firstly, and then analyzes readers' integration result from the point of cognitive extent and precision, and finally summarizes the integration patterns and rules in integration process. After that, this study summarizes readers' cognitive perception and analyzes its specific reasons. At last,base4 on the hyper-reading behavior in Wikipedia, this study makes some suggestions for hyper reading system design.
