VANET (Vehicular Ad Hoc network), which is the result of combination ICT technologies with current car industry is on its highway towards a more advanced and developed future. Among recent studies on VANET, V2V communication technology based on LTE network have been drawing various attention. Meanwhile, during an Industry-University-Research Collaboration project called "Research on new technologies of 5G V2V", both the industry partner and members in the university need an LTE-based V2V simulator to support the ongoing research. However, there's no such simulator available currently which can greatly support the needs of LTE-based V2V communication technology. Under such circumstance, an LTE-based V2V simulator platform is designed and implemented and an algorithm called Zero-delay Resource Reservation Based on Vehicle State is proposed in this thesis.Firstly, the needs and demands of the LTE-based V2V simulator which is later designed and implemented are analyzed. Then, with the combination of open-source network simulator and vehicle simulator, an LTE-based V2V simulator is designed and implemented. To accomplish such designing and implementation, the inner mechanism of the open-source network simulator NS-3 and its LTE module is deeply analyzed, which is the foundation of adding L'I'E-based V2V communication; then the combination of the network simulator NS-3 and vehicle simulator SUMO is accomplished, allowing nodes in NS-3 can move according to the simulation results of SUMO in real time?both functional and performance evaluation of the LTE-based V2V simulator which is previous designed and implemented is conducted. And the comparison of results given by the LTE-based V2V simulator and another simulator for the same collision avoidance scheme for V2V resource allocation validates the correctness and the performance of the proposed simulator.Secondly, an algorithm called Zero-delay Resource Reservation Based on Vehicle State is proposed. The algorithm utilizes the information of vehicle during running, converts it into an index reflecting how dangerous the vehicle is, and uses the index to reserve communication resource for the most dangerous vehicles. And then the simulation of the proposed algorithm is done on the proposed LTE-based V2V simulator. And the simulation results suggest that the proposed algorithm greatly reduced the time delay for vehicle safely information, providing maximum time for drivers to react, which greatly reduce the probability of traffic accident. The proposed LTE-based V2V simulator has been widely used by the industry partner and members in the Industry-University-Research Collaboration project to conduct extensive schemes and algorithm for LTE-based V2V communication, providing great significance for the research on V2V communication technologies.
