Integrated application platform for transportation is a product containing multidisciplinary science and technology, such as basic disciplines and many emerging disciplines and interdisciplinary traffic information. This technology has been applied and implemented in many Western countries. But, Our country started relatively late in this respect. In this paper, the implementation of the platform, with multi-source information fusion technology, is based on the purpose to strengthen the railway,highway, shipping, air transport management in a more modern, scientific and standardized way. It can also improve the work efficiency of transportation management,reduce operating costs and improve traffic operation quality, thereby greatly improving the transport capacity of three-dimensional integrated transport system.With the support of modern information technology and under the drive of economic and social development, people's requirement or demand of traffic system is increasing. The traditional traffic management model and control methods are backward and the operation cost is so high that it cannot satisfy the development of modern traffic system. Therefore, these factors are the driving force of the transportation system. In the current social economy, information is the inevitable trend of the future. Integrated application platform of transportation and other information management systems,because of their attribute, must be a huge project. The whole system can be built by the use of computer technology and network technology to complete its efficient management.In this paper, the C/S system is used as the main component of the integrated transportation application platform system. Data middleware and component technology are used to realize the flexible configuration of various functional modules. It mainly includes the comprehensive transportation database application subsystem, data acquisition subsystem, integrated satellite positioning monitoring subsystem, dynamic traffic monitoring subsystem, and large landscape 3D simulation system. All the systems are based on COM technology and are place in an integrated platform to achieve seamless integration, thus it can provide transportation facilities information,dynamic monitoring emergency support, decision support analysis, transport capacity,statistical analysis and other functions for the users.At present, the integrated transportation application platform has been in practical use, running well, and won the provincial science and technology progress awards. In a word, it has achieved the desired design requirements.
