In recent years,the video traffic of mobile terminal have experienced explosive growth.According to CISCO research report,mobile terminal video traffic will exceed computer video traffic by 2020,and will occupy 82%of the total network traffic.In LTE wireless network environment,the ratio of video traffic to total traffic has reached 40%,and this figure is still increasing.Therefore,the research of video users experience on mobile terminals has significant theoretical and social value.The user experience on the mobile terminal is not only related with the characteristics of video transmission itself,but also related with the battery capacity.Watching video will cause great power consumption of the mobile terminal which directly restricting the user's watching time,thus affecting the user's experience.This paper firstly analyzes the user behavior characteristics and user experience on the mobile terminal through actual network measurement data,and then proposes two video transmission mechanisms for the wireless cellular network.These two mechanisms can reduce the power consumption of the mobile terminal to watch the video and improve the user watching experience.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)do statistical analysis of video data based on huge amount of Youku log data.First of all,get the information of mobile devices that users use to watch the video by doing statistical analysis,including screen size,resolution,memory size,battery capacity,price.Secondly,we summarize the behavior characteristics of users watching video,including video encoding rate,network types,video length and watching time,the video completion rate of users to watch the video and so on.Finally,the factors that affect video interruption are statistically analyzed.(2)propose a video transmission mechanism called "Constant-length energy-aware video chunk selection mechanism",the basic idea is to consider the following factors when designing the video chunk size:The waste energy during Tail status monitor mode of wireless cellular network card;Invalid data transmission due to the user leaving in advance.The mechanism will establish a mathematical model that gives a method for calculating the video chunk size.The numerical results show that this mechanism can reduce the power consumption of the two factors.(3)propose a video transmission mechanism called "Variable-length energy-aware video chunk selection mechanism".The basic idea is:according to the actual network measurement data,the time distribution of the users continue to watch video will change with the time they have been watched.Based on this observation,the mechanism establishes a mathematical model,which can calculate a download video chunk sequence given the length of time the user has watched.Compared with the numerical experimental results,it is proved that this mechanism can save more electricity in the same user watching behavior.
