Software Defined Networking(SDN),as a new type of network architecture,is expected to deal with ossification of traditional network architecture and encourage network innovation. In SDN network, control logic is extracted from network devices and forms logically centralized control plane, which brings great convenience for the network management. In addition,SDN also provides open programmable interfaces.Though SDN control plane is logically centralized, its framework is coordination of multi-controller because of performance limitations and so on.Controller deployment becomes one of the highlights in research about control plane optimization. We research on traffic-aware SDN control method to optimize control plane and forwarding plane of SDN,which takes data centers as application scenarios. We firstly propose Traffic-aware Compatible Controller Deployment for multi-controller control plane. And for forwarding plane optimization,we solve TCP Incast problem caused by many-to-one communications and propose design of load balance of server cluster based on SDN technology. The main contribution of this article can be summarized as follows:(1)Traffic-aware Compatible Controller Deployment. This paper proposes multilevel k-way partition for controller deployment. This method can reduce the complexity of input, and has the characteristics of parallel computing. The algorithm can effectively ensure the load balance of controller and reduce inter-domain flows ensuring the performance of upper applications by dynamically partitioning and adjusting domains.(2)SDN Deadline-Aware Datacenter TCP.This strategy, based on D2TCP,prevents TCP Incast problem by taking advantage of SDN's centralized control and flow-handle technology.SDN controller ensures adequate buffers for many-to-one communications according to the current global switch resources. The solution guarantees throughput while making quick completion of many-to-one communication.(3)SDN-based server load balancing design.SDN-based server cluster load balancing,is implemented by using network flow splitting, which does not need a dedicated scheduler and other special requirements for servers, such as support for IP tunneling or complex network configuration.SDN-based server clusters, are no longer required to be in the same physical network, which improves scalability.
