With the green light LED lighting and the concept of illumination both of communication,based on LED visible light communication technique has been widespread concern and research.This paper proposes a multi-terminal visible light communication system design scheme based on LED,to achieve a variety of terminals hardware and software platforms into the visible light communication system design goals,played a better scalability and compatibility.Firstly,an overview of the background of the visible light communication technology,the basic theory and technology.Introduces the development of a visible light communication technology at home and abroad,and the development of a variety of smart devices under Android platform,as well as analyze and discuss about application scenarios of visible light communication system.Secondly,based on the multi-terminal LED visible light communication system design requirements,put forward the overall framework of the system,given the system design based on OOK modulation and coding scheme of Manchester.Analysis and introduced the LED light source and sensor systems.Designed communication protocol based on IEEE802.15.7 standard protocol.Design to achieve a multi visible light communication system includes MCU terminal platform and the Android platform,wherein the visible light communication system MCU terminal platform to achieve the lowest communication rate of 7.2kbps,the highest communication rate of 50kbps and basically require the IEEE802.15.7 standard protocol PHY I mode communication rate 11.67kbps to 48.89kbps;visible light communication system on Android platform achieve the highest communication rate of 100bps.Papers for the design and implementation of systems related to performance and functional testing,experimental test for the bit error rate,transmission distance and communication protocols frame length,gives two performance tests result at different distances and communication protocols frame length.Detailed analysis of the results obtained from the best transmission distance,the best frame length and system performance parameters such as transmission distance limit.In addition to the functional test system for traditional text messaging capabilities,as well as simulation of access control and vehicle identification function.Corresponding tests to verify the reliability and effectiveness of the system design,also proved that multi-terminal visible light communication system can adapt to a variety of applications,and with more generic and extensible advantages.This paper provides a theoretical basis and practical methods for the application of the theory and practice visible light communication system for the furture.
