As an equipment of transmiting and receiving signals,antenna plays an important role in our daily life.With the rapid development of wireless communication system,more requirements for the antennas are put forward,like compact size,high integration,low cost.Frequency reconfigurable antennas have tunable operating frequency,and they can applied in multifunctional systems.Ultra-Wideband(UWB)antennas can be applied in wireless communication and radar detection.The UWB frequency ranges from 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz.However,in this frequency range,there are other band like Wireless Local Area Networks(WLAN,5.15 to 5.825 GHz),and Wordwide Interoperability for Microwave Access(WIMAX,3.3-3.8 GHz).To avoid interference,frequency reconfigurable UWB antennas with band-notched characteristics can be utilized.This thesis studies the design of compact microstrip reconfigurable antenna.A compact UWB antenna is designed,and by adding stubs and slots,the band-notched properties are achieved.The implemented UWB with notched band has four operation mode,including UWB,UWB with stopband of WiMAX,UWB with stopband of WLAN,and UWB with stopbands of both WiMAX and WLAN.The thesis is organized as follows.First,the background of the microstrip frequency reconfigurable antenna is introduced.Second,a compact UWB antenna is designed and a compact microstrip frequency reconfigurable antenna is proposed.At last,the conclusion is given.
