With the rapid progress of maritime information technology, the vessel's sailing data(AIS Data for short)has increased tremendously. These massive AIS data contains a wealth of logistics, shipping, maritime traffic and other useful knowledge. The traditional methods of data analysis cannot meet the requirements of the rapid development of modern shipping industry. There is an urgent need for effective theory and technology to analyze and apply these large amounts of AIS data.Data mining and clustering which mining the useful and potential knowledge from large amounts of data have been the main data analysis techniques for massive AIS data mining. The research object of this thesis is ship trajectory.Using data mining and clustering to solve the related issues of the route planning. This thesis committed to carrying out route planning service system which is based on the AIS data.Reduce the mistakes in the design of the route, providing the auxiliary decision for the route planning to improve the supervision efficiency and optimize the navigation of the ship. The main work of this thesis is as follows:(1)The decoding and processing of the AIS data.Based on the introduction of AIS information type and content update time, this thesis analyzes the composition of AIS original information and the main sentence structure, and decodes the AIS information. The AIS database was designed and the wrong AIS information was filtered. The missing AIS information interpolation method is proposed and clean AIS information available is obtained.(2)When the trajectory data reach a large data level,it will bring great difficulties and challenges to data storage, transmission and processing. In this thesis, the classical Douglas-Peucker algorithm is studied, the compression threshold is researched by the deviation limit and ship domain. The method of ship track data compression based on speed and heading constraints is proposed. The two algorithms are compared with the experimental results.(3)According to the motion characteristics of the ship at sea, this thesis studies the change rate of ship course and speed, which provides a new basis for studying ship behavior characteristics. At the same time, the algorithm of on-line identification of ship's stationary behavior is designed, which has certain reference value for the hot spot area of vessel monitoring in route planning.(4)The AIS data are partitioned by geographic grid technology, and the hot sub-trajectory and typical route are excavated.Putting forward the method of establishing database of turning point and hot sub-trajectory has certain reference significance to route planning.
