Phase change memory(Change Memory Phase,PCM or PRAM)as a new type of storage media,is considered to be more superior to the existence of static memories.It is made of sulfide as the main material,and the static memory with a non-volatile.What's more,it supports multi byte addressing technology which means that the same size of the memory block.At the same time,PRAM also has some disadvantages that should not be ignored in the case has so many advantages because of its special heating storage method,to read and write performance is asymmetry,medium data erasing times is limited,not unlimited just like DRAM.Linear hybrid architecture of DRAM and PRAM is proposed,we hope to use the advantages of DRAM to make up the disadvantage of PRAM in this paper.According to the following principles,the new cache policy is proposed for hybrid memory architecture(Dynamic Hybrid LRU,DHLRU):(1)Make use of the characteristics of DRAM write fast to make up the shortcoming of PRAM read-write asymmetry,so as to reduce the performance loss of DRAM/PRAM linear mixed memory architecture caused by PRAM read and write asymmetry.(2)Make use of the advantages of DRAM infinite life to make up the limitation of PRAM life,so as to prolong the service life of PRAM in the mixed memory.(3)To the characteristics of LRU cache replacement policy,let DRAM as close as possible to the tail of the list,so that DRAM can be replaced more frequently.(4)According to the local principle program sets the threshold value of the program,for the time division,recorded a program to read and write the proportion and predicts the next section of the program to read and write,in order to dynamically adjust the DRAM insertion position in the cache list.In the DRAM/PRAM hybrid memory architecture,compared with the traditional caching strategy,DHLRU can improve the performance of the program 7.8%,reducing PRAM utilization rate of about 11.8%,and the energy consumption of DRAM/PRAM mixed memory is reduced to 88.2%.
